Vinyl fence quality is decided almost entirely by two things you cannot see from the street: wall thickness and how deep the posts are set.
Vinyl has effectively replaced wood as the default residential fence across the southwest valley, and for good reason — it doesn't rot, warp, splinter, or need staining, and a good one runs 20-30 years with a hose-down as the entire maintenance program.
But vinyl fence is where the spread between a cheap bid and a good one is widest, because the two things that determine lifespan are both invisible once the job is done: the wall thickness of the extrusion, and how deep the posts are set.
What's in every fence we set:
6 ft privacy — the standard backyard fence in West Jordan, South Jordan, and Herriman subdivisions. Solid tongue-and-groove panels.
Privacy with lattice or picket top — same privacy, more light and a softer line.
Semi-private — spaced boards, good for wind exposure on the west side of the valley where a solid 6 ft panel takes a real beating.
3-rail ranch — property lines, horse property, and the larger lots out toward Bluffdale and Herriman.
Picket — front yards and pool enclosures, typically 4 ft.
Most HOAs in the newer subdivisions specify height, style, and color. We check CC&Rs before ordering material, because vinyl is not something you want to re-order.
